Our Wine Broad

THINK PINK SPRING WINES

Spring has sprung, so time to THINK PINK. With the Cherry Blossom Festival starting this weekend, there is no better time to enjoy a crisp and fruity rose wine.

Rose wines are made from red grapes and some of the best examples hail from the South of France (Provence) and Spain. These are not your Mom’s White Zinfandels from the 1980s, but truly fine wines capable of pairing with a wide variety of foods.

Ca’ Bona Pinot Grigio Rosé 2007,
Lombardy, Italy
A pink Pinot Grigio?? Yup—because Pinot Grigio grapes have pink skins. Mouthwatering and ripe, peach, mango and watermelon flavors, fresh and crisp.

Aljibes Syrah Rosé 2007, Tierra de Castilla, Spain
Sure it’s pink, but it packs a punch—ripe red plum and raspberry notes, hint of spice, crisp and refreshing.

Ingleside Rosato di Sangiovese 2007,
Northern Neck, Virginia
A rich and luscious rosé from Italy’s Chianti grape—ripe black cherry and bright strawberry and cranberry notes, clean and refreshing finish.

Chrysalis Vineyards ‘Sarah’s Patio Red’ 2007,
Loudoun County, Virginia
Drinks like a rose, yet looks like a light bodied red wine. Made from 100% Norton grapes—The REAL American grape—native to Virginia. Aromas of blueberry, blackberry, fresh grapes. Crisp and refreshing. Slightly sweet.

I am getting close to canceling. I can't believe there is another repeat today.

Why are they off today? Connie was supposed to come back. Plus, they were going to talk about lost, etc.

I was looking forward to Connie today. I'm sick of them promising stuff and not delivering.

I agree what is the deal with all the repeats? I live to hear the Broads. Just let us know what is going on.

Monday's show was the first time in a long time that was actually fun. It just seems like there is a lot of obessing over American Idol and Lost (talk about crickets).

Listening to them talk about Lost is like listeing to Trekky geeks talk about Star Trek.

I agree, I HATE the Lost coverage.....snorefest. I am close to canceling, it seems like they have nothing but commercial breaks. I even listen to it taped so I can forward thru the commercials and it's still annoying. Also, last week, what was up with the singing segments, so boring. Also lose the wine guy, who gives a crap about that...if I want to learn about wine, I'll go to Napa.
I waited a long time for the Broads to come back, but for some reason it just isn't the same.

I love Lost, it is my favorite show so I look forward to the Lost segments. I guess if you are not a fan it is not fun. Lost is a great show, give it chance. I am tired of American Idol. I stopped watching it. I think the show has changed somewhat, I wish they would not keep taking time off, they were off for 7 weeks before returning. WTF?

Even when they talk about Broadbuzz, Christine doesn't get the stories straight. She doesn't seem to do research that really isn't that hard on gossip. She was talking about Rhianna and her tattoo being on her stomach and it is near her armpit and she said Rhianna is dating someone from the Hills and that is Paris Hilton.

The LOST and American Idol coverage is fun if you watch the shows. What I can't stand is when they have the Psychic (Sherrie?) on to talk about other people's futures. Who cares? My loyalty is beginning to fade with all of the repeats anyway. I've found other good shows during their time slot.

Please guys, not everyone loves LOST!! Ugh. The show needs to have more broadbuzz and things that are interesting in a broad pop cultural sense.

I was hoping they would talk about ER. They could have gone in different directions with that show talking about the ground-breaking theatricals. I did get my Star magazine and it did say the Rhianna did go out with Frankie from the Hills (my apologies from above). Paris is also dating someone from the Hills, though.

Hey! I have an idea! Instead of complaining about what you don't like, why don't you suggest what you would like to hear. I love the Broads and think they offer a little bit for everybody. If your interests are softball and motorcycle gangs then I can't honestly say I'd enjoy hearing segments about that, but what the hell, I'd still stay tuned in. (And for the record, I'm pretty sure they were playing the repeats while they were negotiating their terms with the big bosses...so can you blame them for that???)
